egh......................

Looks like I'm manstruating. I am just a little terrified of my first test in foundations of western culture.

I really enjoy this quote:

"O the anguish of that thought that we can never atone to our dead for the stinted affection we gave them, for the light answers we returned to their plaints or their pleadings, for the little reverence we showed to that sacred human soul that lived so close to us, and was the divinest thing God had given us to know!"
---George Eliot, Scenes from Clerical Life

I love that she says that the human soul is the "divinest thing God ha[s] given us to know."

Hecks yes.

This weekend, I attended a pre-release of a Magic the Gathering set, Scars of Mirrodin. At this pre-release, I played in a tournament in which I placed top ten out of 120 participants. I felt awesome, haha. Aside from the nerdiness, my weekend was pretty uneventful. sooooooooooooooo yeah. peace.

Not in Nottingham.

Two hours from now, I have to give a "this I believe" presentation in my Western Lit. class.
My presentation is "I Believe in Creativity". In comparison to all my other classmates' presentations, it seems a bit shallow. From "I Believe in Sound" (from a girls who almost lost her hearing) to "I Believe in Fathers" (from a girl who grew up without one), all of them seem much more meaningful than mine.

I believe in Creativity

I believe that God created us in His image, to be like him in spirit. He created us with the ability to create. I believe that He wants us to use our creativity in everyday life. Writing poetry, writing songs, and drawing have helped me get through issues in everyday life for the past couple of years.

I wrote a poem called "Create"

Be
Creative
Be
Frustrated
With the world
With a girl
With the lawn mower
That wakes you up an hour before
Your alarm.

Be
Inventive
Find
Incentive
In the good,
In the bad,
In the little Ethiopian kid
Who makes you feel guilty
For buying a nice T.V.

Use
Emotion
Use
The Ocean
Use the sky
Use a sigh
Use that person who you
Like but you know they
Don't like you.

Be
Alone
On
Your own
And be
Creative.
